ACoP L24 is updated and reissued with a 2013 date – the change takes account of changes to legislation since the previous edition was published, including:
Quarries Miscellaneous Health and Safety Provisions Regulations 1995
Quarries Regulations 1999
Work at Height Regulations 2005
Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007
Health and Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2002
ACoP L24 aims to help employers understand the regulatory requirements on issues such as ventilation, temperature, lighting, cleanliness, room dimensions, workstations and seating, floor conditions, falls or falling objects, transparent and translucent doors, gates and walls, windows, skylights and ventilators, traffic routes, escalators, sanitary conveniences and washing facilities.
ACoP L143 is updated and reissued with a 2013 date and ACoP L127 is withdrawn (it’s content is included in the updated L143) – the change aims to make legal compliance clearer to dutyholders and reflect the changes introduced in The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
HSG 65 is also reissued with a 2013 – the guidance explains the Plan, Do, Check, Act approach and shows how it can help achievement of a balance between the systems and behavioural aspects of management. It also treats health and safety management as an integral part of good management generally, rather than as a stand-alone system.
